The Statue of Liberty in Paris

Paris has a copy of the statue of liberty, that looks exactly like the one in New York city except that it’s much smaller. It’s located in All. des Cygnes, 75015 an artificial island in a walking distance from Eiffel Tower. 

This statue was given by American community to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. There are more statues of Liberty in Paris, they are in Musée D’Orsay, Jardin du Luxembourg, Musée des Arts et Métiers.

By the way and speaking about Liberty take a sneak peek to the Flame of Liberty. Below the flame of Liberty is the tunnel where Princess Diana died.

The Louvre is the world’s largest art Museum and quite spectacular inside, you can buy the tickets online so you can skip the line. 

This museum has 10 million visitors a year and 5000 years of history under one roof. 

It’s too vast to explore with 380 thousand objects there’s no way you are going to see it in one day. 

Take you best shot and see the most famous like Leonard DaVinci, Michael Angelo and Egyptian antiquities. 

Crowds have been visiting Le Louvre since it opened in 1793. The most popular attraction is the Mona Lisa.

More museums in Paris

Not far from Louvre stands the Centre Pompidou displaying the largest modern art collection in Europe.

If you like perfume visit the Musée du Parfum Fragonard. On the other side, Paris also features a sewer’s Museum witch is currently close for renovation.

There are many other interesting places to visit such as Museum Of Montmartre, Museum of the History of Medicine, Hotel de Cluny and Les Caves du Louvre.

It’s a dark experience. As you descend the temperature goes down and you will see 6 millions human remains in the walls. 

The remains were put there to save space.  At that time there were so many cemeteries in Paris that were somewhat over crowded. 

Takes you about one hour to visit the Catacombs of Paris and the circuit has about 1.5 kilometer.

The Market street in Paris

One of the best Market streets in Paris is Rue Cler, it’s 10 minutes away from flame of liberty where you can hunt for a nice wine and cheese.

While in Paris you might be interested to go to Pere Lachaise cemetery and visit the graves of famous people like Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wild and other world greatest minds for whom now Paris is now their forever home.
